Affinity Groups and Discussion Groups

Last year we received wonderful feedback from attendees about our affinity and discussion group time blocks and so we will continue those at MMEA 2026! If you are interested in leading a discussion group, I’m happy to hear your ideas and create more spaces for folks to connect and share. Feel free to reach out to me at ConferenceChair@MassMEA.org and we can discuss!

Student Opportunities

We are beginning to plan our Contemporary Creators Festival, Concert Hours and Spotlight Concerts. More information will roll out about those opportunities in October and November.

Conference Questions

If you have any questions about the 2026 MMEA Conference, feel free to reach out to me at ConferenceChair@MassMEA.org

New Ensemble Audition and All State Recommendation Information

Over the past few months, we have been putting together the final details of audition materials and changes in our All State recommendation process in order to fill our 4 new All State Ensembles! I have created a video and presentation that walks you through these new materials and the changes we’ll make to our current processes.

We will be working on updating the MMEA website in the coming weeks with this audition material information.

If you have any questions after reviewing the video, please contact us at NewEnsembles@MassMEA.org and we will be happy to address them.

Sincerely,

Tom Westmoreland, Conference Chairperson & DEIA Chairperson
