Perform at the State House on Hill Day
A Hill Day is an advocacy event where individuals or groups gather at a government location, such as a state house or capitol, to raise awareness about a specific cause or issue and engage with lawmakers. It is often organized by advocacy organizations, professional groups, or coalitions to promote policies, funding, or legislation that supports their mission.
The MMEA Hill Day for Music Education aims to:
-
Advocate for music education by showcasing its value through student performances and other presentations.
-
Engage with policymakers to secure support or funding for music programs in schools.
-
Raise awareness about the importance of arts education among legislators and the public.
The MMEA Hill Day planning committee is seeking student ensembles to perform during the Hill Day for Music Education at the Massachusetts State House. This event provides an opportunity to showcase the musical artistry and dedication of student musicians across the Commonwealth. We encourage a variety of ensemble types to apply.
